Hiking
This afternoon we went for a hike at Raceway Woods. Husband and I had hiked there before children but this was the first time we took the kids. I remember being there when we were trying to get pregnant and imagining how fun it would be to someday bring our kids there. When G was diagnosed with CP and was having a hard time learning to walk I remember thinking that we might never hike there or anywhere. How absolutely cool is it that we were able to play there today with our perfect kids. Being there today as a family makes me so appreciative of G's accomplishments. I feel so grateful and happy today. I love my little family. So......on to the events..... Raceway Woods is the former home of Meadowdale International Raceways and is now used for hiking, biking, horseback riding, picnicking and such. Much of the original racetrack is still visable throughout the park's mulched trails. There are a variety of parks in American that were former racetracks and they are know as "ghost tracks" . Neat-O. During one of our pre-children visits we found a old tunnel that was an underground foot bridge which spectators used to get from one side of the track to the other by walking underneath the actual racetrack.....according to a nice older man who filled us in on the racetrack's history. Our goal today was to find that tunnel because what three year old wouldn't love a "secret" tunnel? We found a group of dreadlocked hippies who helped us locate the "secret" tunnel we stumbled upon four years earlier. It was as cool as we remembered and of course G and A loved it. It had some fresh tagging which the children took in as if were museum art. Husband brought two flashlights for the kids to use exploring in the tunnel. I directed them not to touch ANYTHING. The tunnel was the hit of the trip and the kids talked about it all night.....welll, the tunnel and the port-a- potty which they also learned about for the first time. They were not however, allowed to use the port-a-potty. G wondered aloud (all night) why it was so dirty.

What a great day you had for a hike. A & G look like they had so much fun exploring. Also love the shopping pics and love, love, love the shoes (as always). I think I am going to make shoe pictures a project.
