Heart Bunting

Nana brought her sewing machine with her last weekend when she and Pops visited with us.  She and A helped me with a little rainbow heart bunting project.  Materials used included felt, a heart cookie cutter which served as the pattern for our hearts and a white crayon.  The hearts could have been drawn by hand on the felt but since I was involving a five year old I figured that having the heart cookie cutter to trace would produce a better final product.

Nana sewed the hearts togeher with her machine and left a small opening for us to stuff.

G wasn't very interested in this project.  A is always ready for a craft but for G to get involved he's got to be super interested.  He did, however, have fun with the stuffing.

A helped stuff a few and then decided I could finish the project.

The complete hearts (below).   I have yet to string them together as bunting but that is the plan.  In the meantime, they look pretty in this bowl and the kids have enjoyed playing "what color heart do I have behind my back" and "hide and seek hearts".
