Dance
A has been taking a dance class this summer, an intro to dance: ballet, tap and jazz. Today A had her recital. The recital was billed as a "variety show" for the seniors (as in senior citizens) in the area. A and her dancemates were the youngest group to dance. They shared the spotlight with a variety of other dancers. The 3 year olds stole the show. The seniors loved them. There were also a few girls who took the mic and shared their voices....they youngest singer was a five year old, a brave and talented five year old. So......A and her dancemates performed three different dances and A didn't move for the first two dances. The other dancers just danced around her. She was completely pouty for the first dance. The second dance involved umbrellas and A got out there with her umbrella and just stood there. At the end of the umbrelle routine the girls plopped themselves on the floor, hidden under their umbrellas. A continued to stand there....just holding her umbrella with absolutely no expression on her face. The croud loved her....lots of laughter. She finally got the hang of it with the third dance and participated. Not necessarly the right moves but at least she was moving. Upon questioning after the event A insisted that she had a great time and wants to go back to "that place" tomorrow. Fun.
