NICU Reunion

We drove out to Rockford to attend the 26th Annual NICU Graduate Reunion.  Can you believe that?  Twenty six years of helping and celebrating these special children we know as preemies.  Thank you Rockford Memorial!  The event included lots of fun games (bean bags were a hit with our children) and crafts plus face painting and visiting with some of the kids' NICU doctors.....and the chance to say thank you again to those calm, peaceful, life saving doctors.  We snagged a picture of Dr. S with A and G.  Husband remembers meeting Dr. S for the first time on the night the chidlren were transfered to Rockford.  Husband and I made the drive together and the kids arrived before us via ambulance.....they shared an incubator on their ride out to Rockford.  It was a dark dark rainy night....very surrreal. When we arrived at the NICU it was Dr. S.  peering into the children's incubators.  He was very zen......husband pointed out the all of our NICU doctors were super calm.   We also had a chance to finally meet the L Family.  A.M. and I have been email pals for almost four years now.  B and J are NICU graduates and they were joined at the celebration by thier newborn brother.
