Gift of an Ordinary Day

I love Katrina Kenison, author of The Gift of An Ordinary Day.  I read this book over the summer......lovely.  One of my student's mothers sent this video to me.  It is really powerful to listen to her read aloud.  I listened in the car on my ride home, so I didn't even see the images, just listening to her was moving.  Go read this book.....and her first one too, Mitten Strings for God, which was written when her boys were little ones.

Oh gosh, you need to go look at this post too:

Do we all really feel this crazy unbelieveable love?
I have a hard time wrapping my head around the love I feel, much less believing that you all too feel it too.
Just thinking about my kids I sometimes feel like I am going to burst with happiness.
I love everything about them.
I try so hard to live in this moment, to soak it all in.
The baths before they become showers.
The washing of messy faces after dinner.
The repeated readings of their favorite books.
The smell of their breath and their feet.
The loud laughing in the middle of jokes because they think we have already told the funny part.
The misprounced words that I don't want to correct: packpack (backpack), thanks give up (Thanksgiving)
All of it....I'm soaking it all up.
