First Day of School.

Today was Toddler A & G's first day of school.  It was actually our "visit day".  Husband and Toddler A went to Ms. Karen's room to meet all of her new friends and her many teachers.  There are a total of 7 children in A's class, five boys and two girls.

I went with G to meet his new teachers and school friends.  G also has seven children in his class.  Today two children were absent which meant that there were more adults in his classroom than children: his "regular" teacher, the teacher's assistant, the Speech Therapist, the Physical Therapist (she is there every Monday and Wednesday), the Occupational Therapist (she is there every Monday and Tuesday), a 1:1 assistant that works with one of the absent students.....so there were five students and 6 teachers.   G loved, loved, loved school.  He threw a fit when it was time to leave.  "No....mommy.  No, I want to stay and play at school."

G made a beeline for the paint.  He first made a handprint Santa and then used paintbrushes to make his own masterpiece.  He then played with the playdough and made a "cookie" which he promptly placed on a cookie sheet and headed over to the stove in the dramatic play area (a.k.a. the kitchen area) to put the cookie in the oven.  His teacher set the timer so he would know when the cookie was done and he then used a potholder to remove the cookie.

Tomorrow they kids take the bus to school for the first time!  They are super excited to ride the bus.  They have been singing The Wheels on the Bus all day.
