Pretend Play

I love pretend play. A and G have been playing "night night" for many months. In this game they reenact all of the steps in our real night time routine: water, books, kisses, lights and on and on. Recently, G begain playing "luggage". In this new pretend game G drags his luggage (also know as a collapsed child sized lawn chair) around the yard. Periodically he will stop and open his luggage and remove things such as shorts or socks but also routers and modems. Routers and modem might seem like a strange thing to travel with but on our recent summer vacation G's real luggage held a router and a modem as these were his favorite play things and we brought them along. During "luggage" G will tell you that he is going on an airplane. To where? He won't say, however, today during "luggage" G entered his play house and stated that he'd arrived at the beach house! I guess his airplane took him to California.
