Deerfields Bakery

Aunt L. sent me a message this morning about a GF (gluten free) bakery in the NW suburbs....Deerfield's Bakery .  Deerfield's bakery is a five generation family bakery that has three different locations in the suburbs.  Their Schaumburg location is where all of the GF baking is done.  They store no wheat, barley or rye flours at that locaion.  They even purchased a new special oven to use for baking their gluten-free products.  I am guessing they have a Celiac in their family.  All of their wheat products are produced at the Buffalo Grove facility and shipped in closed cabinets to the other stores for daily distribution.  After recieving Aunt L.'s message I immediately contacted husband and requesting that he make a stop at this bakery on his way home.  He did.  He purchased some chocolate chip cookies and some mini baguettes.  Both A & G loved the cookies.  Husband enjoyed them.  I thought they were ok.  I will...I will.....I will grow to love these cookies.  The cost you wonder ??  Not bad.  The cookies (7 I believe) were $8.00.  Like I said...not bad....I mean....were not buying Oreo's here.  The baguettes were $5.00 which seems appropriate.  We haven't tried them yet...they look and feel yummy.
