I am having a slight obsession with the Coppola family. I am always fascinated when multiple memebers of one family excell in one particular area. For the Coppola clan : movie making.....and then you add the wine...really? I just finished reading Notes On a Life by Eleanor Coppola. Loved it. Written in a non-linear sequence which, I am realizing, I favor. I loved that this "Hollywood" family raised their children in northern California in the middle of a vineyard where they recieved no televison reseption. Eleanor managed to raise creative, independent and confident children in a unconventional setting.
Husband and I just finished watching Lost in Translation which was directed by Sofia Coppola. Remember watching and loving the movie when it was realease and so enjoyed it after reading Eleanor's (Sofia's mom) memoir. According to Eleanor's book, Sofia wrote Lost in Translation with Bill Murray in mind. She attempted to contact him many times regarding his participation in her movie with no response from him. Eventually a friend of her called her and reported that Bill Murray was at Whatever restuarant. She rushed over to the restaurant hoping to catch him in person. The two hit it off and he agreed to be in the movie.
I'm thinking it might be pretty fun to be friends with Sofia Coppola...or for that matter Scarlette Johansson and Pete Yorn too.
Really....she's a model....an actress....and she can sing too.
